Trip Info

Aegae, called Vergina today, is a small town in Northern Greece that was the center of Macedonia during the reign of Philip II. Phillip II, the king of Macedon and father of Alexander the Great, was buried here in 336 BC. Certainly, there is nothing comparable in Europe – no museum holding items in their original location, such as the tomb of Philip. Among the 300 tombs in Aegae, Phillip II’s was the only one that was not looted. The visit to Aigai will enchant you as both the location, and the rich discoveries within, are truly impressive.

After our exploration, we will continue to Edessa where we will have lunch and enjoy our coffee in the green area with the waterfalls. We look forward to guiding you!
