Trip Info

We start this tour with a visit to the tomb of Philip II, the king of Macedon and father of Alexander the Great. The famous tombs you will see on this tour were the graves of Macedonians. Of the more than 300 tombs, only Philip II had never been looted.

Next on our tour, we will continue to the sacred site of the ancient Macedonians, Dion, where Alexander the Great went to ask the help of the Gods before leaving for his expedition to Asia. The Temple of Isis, the villa of Dionysus with the mosaic of amazing art, and the area as a whole is a surprise to visitors as it is located in the shadow of the legendary mountain of mythology, Mount Olympus. Here we will also visit the Archaeological Museum, where we will find a unique musical instrument – Hydraulis. The museum always impresses because of the number of exhibits, which goes to highlight the magnitude of the importance of Dion.

After our exploration of Dion, we will continue to the village of Litohoro where we will have lunch. This is followed by a wonderful walk in the canyon of Enippeas, where we will arrive at the place where Aphrodite took a bath. The walk lasts an hour and a half and leaves you with a wonderful feeling of being surrounded by the nature of the Olympus Gods.
