Zanzibar is an idyllic beach holiday island, with its pristine reefs, sandy white beaches and clear blue waters being among the best in the world.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha:

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park & Ngorongoro Conservation Area:

After breakfast, departure by a 4WD Land Cruiser to Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is one of the most beautiful places in Africa. As you enter the gate, the Park is dramatically marked off by lush green vegetation consisting of tall trees of the ground water forest, which provide home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. Further down, the forest opens up into woodland, grassland, swamps and beyond, the soda lake itself where over 350 species of birds, including the lively flamingo, pelican, sacred ibis, grebe and stork can be viewed (a bird watchers’ paradise). At the southern end of the Park are hot sulphur springs called MajiMoto. Manyara is noted for its numerous buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo, as well as a great variety of smaller animals, and of course the very elusive tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon, you will proceed towards Ngorongoro conservation Area. Ngorongoro is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and is surrounded by very steep walls rising 610 meters from the floor. Covering an area of 259 square kilometers, it is considered to be one of the ‘Wonders of the Natural World’, and is a veritable haven for wildlife. In the afternoon, you will proceed towards Ngorongoro Serena, the lodge is well camouflaged and has been built into the rim of the Crater keeping to a minimum any intrusion on the surrounding countryside. From each of the 75 rooms, the view into the Crater is stunning. Dinner and overnight at Endoro Lodge (full board)

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti National Park:

Leaving early in the morning and taking a picnic lunch with you, you will spend most of the day game driving on the floor of the crater. The bottom of the crater is dotted with watering-holes, sheltering almost 30 000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. In the afternoon, you will proceed towards Serengeti National Park, probably the greatest park on earth… This park covers over 14 000 square kilometers and offers amongst many other things, the biggest concentration of big cats in the world (Cheetahs, Lions, Leopards, Wild cats…). Many different landscapes can be found in the Serengeti: Savannah with the big plains to the south, hills & woods to the west, the kopjes area to the east, and bush land to the north. Important rivers (Seronera, Banagi, Grumeti ) also run through the park. Many different species of mammals can be spotted during game drives, elephant, buffalo, giraffes, antelopes, hippo and crocodile can also be found. Dinner and overnight Ikoma Bush Camp (full board). Optional night game drive on request for clients staying within Western corridor, supplement USD40.00 per person.

Spice up your life…………Visit Zanzibar ! For many centuries, Persians, Arabs, Chinese, Indians as well as European explorers have sailed the Indian Ocean heading to the coasts of “Zinj” and Zanzibar, creating a true mosaic of different influences and styles. The Swahili culture was born there in the seventh century. Later, Kiswahili became the Lingua Franca throughout East Africa and parts of Central Africa. Stone Town is the ideal place “to feel” the atmosphere, and soul of Zanzibar. Elegant trader’s houses, old coral stone buildings set behind large carved doors, some with Koranic inscriptions in Arabic, narrow alleyways with covered balconies, wonderful shops and tiny stalls selling local handicraft, spice and fish market, and in the evening sounds and smells from the Forodhani Gardens where fish and lobster are grilled on barbecues. Zanzibar is known as the Spice Islands and was once the world’s leading producer of cloves. A guided tour to spice farms and plantations is an option here. Here you can see, smell and taste aromatic species – scented plants among them, guava, mangoes, vanilla, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, chilies, black pepper and cinnamon. Zanzibar is an idyllic beach holiday island, its pristine reefs, sandy white beaches and clear blue waters are among the best in the world.
