Pacaya Samiria El Dorado

Departure from the city of Iquitos at 7.30 am. By private car to Nauta, for a time of 1.30 hours, then we are dealing with a motor boat to navigate the Marañón river 3 and a half hours until the national reserve base in Buenos Aires. In the afternoon we sail and we will walk to visit the lake Irquez de Huaylla and see a lot of birds, dolphins, giant trees and sunset.
After breakfast we sail by boat with engine for a time of 4 hours by the Yanayacu River, where we will go camping, sleeping in tents, we will walk on the shores of lake wolf yacu to observe a great number of birds and other animals, lunch, afternoon navigation watching pink and gray river dolphins, and some varieties of monkeys. At all times we will know the basics in survival in the jungle, techniques for walking, forms of natural direction, how to make fire at any time of the year, in every place we will prepare our food and we will look for natural resources, in spite of the fact that we carried food if necessary, in the evening we sail in canoe to observe large lizards of all size and other animals.
We continue navigating deeper for a time of 5 hours up to the post of monitoring Nro. 2, camping and exploration by different places sailing and walking by observing a large number of macaws, knowledge of medicinal plants and trees that can be used in cases of emergency, turtles, and some rodents in the night.
In the morning we continue earning more into the interior of the jungle, until you reach the checkpoint (Huarmi island) reaching for camping. In the evening we will explore, looking for some mammals.
After breakfast, we continue navigating, throughout this whole journey we’re going to observe very large lizards. In the afternoon we are coming to the Lake El Dorado where we will appreciate a large amount of animals and birds. There we will stay in the El Dorado refuge, this account with the basic amenities. There will also be sport fishing, then begin exploring, as this area is one of the most rich in flora and fauna that is why it is called the heart of the national reserve. In all the walks we can appreciate the different species of monkeys, sloth, orchids, birds, anacondas etc. In the evening a walk or nighttime navigation, to see the largest rodents or the large alligators. Return to the refuge.
After breakfast we will begin to carry out sport fishing activities observation of birds and other animals and learn about life of the inhabitants of this place enjoying the beautiful scenery. Overnight.
Very early in the morning we continue returning, enjoying beautiful scenery and very colorful birds such as macaws, toucans, herons, and other community until the Yarina.
Breakfast, then continue the return to the city of Nauta, and then tackling the private car to return to the city of Iquitos by road for a time of 1.30 hours arriving at approximately 6.30 PM. End of tour.
Program can vary according to the interest of the participants, either by studies, photography, ornithologists or fishermen, or interested in reports.
The tour to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is completely one of adventure, but if you want to with a bit of comfort, we have some cabins within the reserve, with beds, shared baths totally enclosed for protection from mosquitoes. These are each 40 and 50 kms along the Yanayacu river.
These tours are reserved in advance, we do all year round, the best time is from June to September each year. That is the summer in this place. It is possible to perform with a minimum of 2 people.
