This is a very popular 7 day wildlife safari, which takes guests through the Kibale Forest for an amazing chimp experience through the canopy. After the forest, guests are driven into the Queen Elizabeth National Park where there will be a boat cruise waiting for you. The cruise takes guests through the Kazinga Channel which connects the lake Edward and Lake George; there you will see large numbers of buffalo and hippo.
The guides will lead you inside the jungle of Bwindi to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for (Gorilla trekking).
Day 1: Arrival Entebbe-Kampala City Tour
You’ll be personally met on arrival at Entebbe airport, and transferred to your accommodation in Kampala. (For those arriving earlier, an afternoon excursion can be planned to the famous tombs of the Kabaka Kings, Uganda museum, Bahai temple and Namugongo Martyrs shrine where 22 Christian convicts were killed under Kabaka (King of Buganda)-Mwanga in 1886.)

Day 2: Kibale National Park
After breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for an outstanding cultural visit. Meals and over night at Ndali Lodge, Kibale Safari Lodge or Primate Lodge (High end) Mountains of the Moon Hotel, (Medium end) Chimpanzee Guest House or Rwenzori View Guest House (Low budget/basic) a stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. Day 3: Kibale National Park-Queen Elizabeth
Early morning trek for seeing chimpanzees. Kibale is the best reserve in Africa to view chimps, a thick jungle with a towering canopy. In the afternoon, drive to the south into Queen Elizabeth National Park, sightseeing and game viewing enroute. Dinner and overnight at spectacular Mweya Lodge or Jacana Lodge, Katara Lodge, Hippo Hill camp, perched right on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Uganda great Lakes and Maramagambo forest respectively (High end) or Simba Safari Camp, Mweya Hostel (Low budget/basic accommodation). Day 4: Queen Elizabeth
Dawn game drive in Uganda’s best park, where all the big game can be seen in abundance. Famous for elephant and kob, expect to see some rarer animals like the giant forest hog. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park! After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes Edward and George, for large numbers of buffalo and hippo. Day 5: Queen Elizabeth-Bwindi
Today’s drive is through what is probably East Africa’s most spectacular scenery, the highland rain forests which reach to the volcanoes in which live the mountain gorillas. A visit to the bat Cave close to Maramagambo forest or a glance of Kyambura gorge is a must! Make a game drive at Ishasha on your way to Bwindi in search of the tree climbing lions. Later, drive to Bwindi via the beautiful scenery of the tea plantations. This is the lushest highland rain forest on Earth, filled with primates and exotic birds. The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park. Dinner and over night at either Gorilla Forest Camp or Bwindi Resort, Ruhija Lodge (High end/luxurious accommodation), or Buhoma Lodge, Engagi Lodge, Silverback lodge, Lake Kitandara Tented Camp/ (Medium class accommodation) or Buhoma Community Bandas (Low budget/basic accommodation). Day 6: Bwindi-Gorilla trek
Begin the day with breakfast and get ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 a.m with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on Earth. There are now only 650 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Forest Camp, Ruhija Lodge (High end), or Silverback lodge, Lake Kitandara Tented Camp (Medium end) or Buhoma Community Bandas (Low budget/basic). Meal plan: (B, L, D)
Day 7: Bwindi – Entebbe
Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch enroute and stop over at Equator Uganda before your evening departures home. Meal plan: (B, L) End of services.
