Trip Info

This is our best sailing vacation holiday! A 7-night and 7-day “Cruise & Learn” adventure that brings new and moderately experienced sailors up to the first three levels of the ISPA syllabus: Competent Crew, Day Skipper and Coastal Navigation. This gets you ready to command your own sailboat or charter worldwide!

This Excursion is an all inclusive live-aboard instructional holiday with generous provisions, study materials, logbook, instruction and certification by qualified ISPA instructors. Sailing destinations include Thunder Bay, Pie Island, Thompson Island, Otter Cove, Loon Harbour, Nipigon Red Rock. And if the conditions permit Rossport and the Slate Islands.

This is perfect for new boat owners, or those thinking of becoming sailors.

I had the opportunity and pleasure to meet Capt. Greg and join this trip last summer. At the time I was interested in learning about sailing – whether I even liked it or not, and if yes then as much as I possibly could in a short time. It turned out that from the first time on the boat I realized that I was quite enthralled with this new found interest, and after a few short sorties in the Bay I decided to join the 7-Day Cruise & Learn trip. I found Greg, as well as all of the people I met related to sailing during that time, to be supremely amicable and supportive towards me and also each other. As a total beginner I occasionally found myself in situations of stress and/or confusion, however, I cannot say that at any time there was any concern in my mind that the safety or educational integrity of our activities were in question, and this is of course thanks to the expertise of the instructors and condition the equipment. I was able to complete the three ISPA levels (it is a lot of work.. and a lot of fun!) and am certainly considering the possibility to return to Thunder Bay to sail with Greg and his team again, highly recommended. Thank you very much!
