The 14 Days Kenya Birding Safari Adventures with our Experience Bird watchers guides will show you the plain birds, wading birds, forest birds, and sea birds. This Kenya Birding Safari Adventures package will concentrate on giving the lovers of birds an opportunity to search their favorite bird species. Unlike the conventional tours that concentrate more on the “big five”, this 14 Days Kenya Birding Safari Adventures package will give the watchers a chance to find the birds

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi
On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by our tour manager who will welcome you and brief you on your birding activity. Then, you will be transferred to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Panafric Hotel

Day 2: Nairobi National Park
After breakfast, depart for your birding activity starting point from Nairobi Museum. Bird watch in this beautiful city until mid-morning, you will be picked and be driven to Nairobi National park for more birding activities. Have your picnic lunch at observation point as you observe game or at Makoyeti Gorge observation point. Continue your birding activity in the park including the adjacent Nairobi Safari Walk .Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Nairobi – Embu
After an early breakfast drive past the third largest pineapple plantation in the world owned by Delmonte firm to Embu for your birding activity at Irangi Forest. Lunch is enroute. Dinner and overnight at Izaak Walton Inn

Embu area is excellent Birding country, becoming popular with specialist birding safaris. There have been recorded sightings of Saddle Billed Stork, Pel’s Fishing Owl and African Fin foots in the swamps and along the river.

Day 4: Mount Kenya National Park
After an early breakfast drive further north to Mount Kenya National Park birding en route. Arrive at Mountain lodge in good time for lunch. Have your afternoon at leisure as you view the game such as buffaloes, forest hogs, and bush pigs and luckily enough you might spot lions too as they come to drink water near the natural salt lick. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Serena Lodge

Day 5: Mount Kenya National Park
After breakfast have you birding activities at the forest trails the better part of the morning. The different habitats, that is, the montane forest, the montane grassland, the bamboo and the moorland, Look out for globally threaten species such as lesser Kestrel, Sharpe’s Long claw, Abbott’s Starling, Jackson’s Widow bird. All meals and overnight at Mountain Serena Lodge

Day 6: Mount Kenya – Samburu National Reserves
We shall leave early for Samburu and Buffalo Springs, a very interesting destination on our Kenya Birding Tour. We shall spend time scouting for extra birds as we enjoy the local mammals, such as Leopard, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Lion, and Elephants. More birds will be expected here to add to our list. This is an amazing part of Kenya and allows for excellent dry country birding. Many of the typical North-East African dryland birds are present here and the habitat will provide a huge species list. Dinner and overnight at Ashnill luxury Camp based on full board accommodation

Day 7: Samburu National Park
This area is very popular with birders and specialist birding safaris. Samburu and Buffalo Springs have over 380 recorded species, with similar numbers in Shaba. Notable species recorded include arid endemics such as Donaldson-Smith’s Sparrow-Weaver, Shining Sunbird and the Bristle Crowned Starling, many Vulturine Guinea fowl, several Hornbill species, Somali Ostrich and rare species such as the Taita Falcon, migratory Kestrels, and William’s Lark. Day 8: Samburu National Park – Lake Nakuru
Leaving early, on this day we shall drive to Lake Nakuru National Park; with a possible quick stop for a site where Cape Eagle-Owls roost. We shall arrive in Nakuru, around mid-day where we shall spend the entire afternoon birding in the park. This park is famed as the birdwatchers’ paradise and indeed was the first national park in Africa to be set up with an avian conservation objective. This is indeed one of the highlight locations on our Kenya Birding Tour. Up to a million flamingos have been recorded in this park depending on their regional migration.

Most of these are Lesser Flamingos with Greater Flamingos making a smaller population. Other birds will be seen including some special species for this area and Palearctic water migrants being abundant in the right season. The park is also a great sanctuary for rhinos; without forgetting the other three members of the Big Five, and these may be encountered as we move around the park. Other mammals will be seen, especially herds of grazing herbivores; and the Rothschild’s Giraffe. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa lodge based on full board accommodation

Day 9: Lake Nakuru – Lake Baringo
On this day, we shall start with more birding in Nakuru. We shall spend the better part of the morning adding any species we may have missed the previous day. In the later afternoon, we shall head for Lake Baringo, as we bird along the way. If time allows, we shall stop briefly at a roadside dam near the lake, to check for some waterfowl. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bogoria Lodge based on full board accommodation

Day 10: Lake Bogoria
This is an important bird area and is frequently visited by specialist Birding safaris. Species of interest recorded here include Jackson’s and Hemprich’s Hornbills, Bristle Crowned Starling, and waterbirds including Goliath Heron, White-backed Duck, and African Skimmers and Darters.

Day 11: Lake Bogoria – Lake Naivasha
This is an important birding area, and the entire region is a popular destination with specialist birding tours. Naivasha has over 400 recorded bird species. The waters of the Lake obviously attract many waterbirds including the continent’s highest concentration of African Fish Eagles, many Goliath Heron, Jacanas, Pied and Malachite Kingfisher, Red-knobbed coot, Spoonbills, Little Grebe, rare Maccoa Duck, African Darters and Saddle Billed Stork. The shores and forests of the lake are also excellent birding territory, while the cliffs of Hell’s Gate National Park are and important nesting area for many raptor species. Day 12: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara National Park
After breakfast drive to Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch at Masai Mara Simba Lodge. The Mara is equally popular with birders, and specialist birding safaris. Of the over 500 recorded species, notables include the Corncrake, Grey crested Helmet Shrike, Lesser Kestrel, Madagascar Squacco Heron, Saddle Billed Stork, Secretary Bird, Ostrich, White headed Vulture among more common species, Lilac Breasted Roller, Yellow billed Ox pecker among the large herds, and Martial and Crowned Eagles.

Day 13: Masai Mara National Park
Full days spent exploring the park in search of the big 5 and other wild game. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person. Masai Mara is globally famous for its exceptional population of Masai lions, African leopards and Tanzanian cheetahs, and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the Great Migration. Morning game drive then return to Nairobi after breakfast, where the safari ends
