Of course, another way to explore the ocean is to get under the waves with a scuba guide. Take Andy Murch, for instance, who will be happy to take you on a guided tour of the lifeforms on the sea floor including the beautiful, yet maligned, Selachimorpha – aka shark. Sharks are one of the most misunderstood species in the ocean and there are conservationists out there who have made it their mission to portray these majestic creatures in a gentler light than what we typically see on “Shark Week.” Take Hannah Fraser for instance. She’s an underwater model and dedicated conservationist who recently teamed up with Emmy Award winning cinematographer Shawn Heinrichs to create the video below that presents tiger sharks in a way we’ve never seen before. It was filmed off the coast of Bermuda and you can’t help but agree that this is one of the most artistic portrayals of sharks ever.
