San Diego Surfing Condensed to 2 Minutes

It’s not everyday you get to see an hour -long surf session condensed to two and a half minutes. But that’s exactly what’s happening in the video below – it was filmed by video artist Cy Kuckenbaker at a beach in San Diego and it takes a seemingly ordinary afternoon of surf footage and turns it into a moving Escher drawing. Guaranteed there’s some mind-bending stuff going on here: watching time bend while specific surfers disappear and reappear like they’re in a watery version of a shell game is trippy.

The sport of surfing can also be mind-bending: the first time you stand up and ride that wave, well, it’s a highly addictive experience – one you just want to keep doing over and over. Of course, we always recommend having a surf guide or water sports guide along for the ride to make the learning curve that much easier and faster. Whether you’re paddle boarding, kite surfing, wind surfing, sea kayaking or even sea cycling, hire yourself a guide and ensure you have the safest and most fun experience on the water. Surf’s up!
