Most of the structure was built with local spruce wood, which were sized on the valley floor and then transported by helicopter to the mountain top. It only took a few days to raise and now it is frequented by alpine aficionados from around Europe and around the world who come there to enjoy one of the most dramatic views on Earth.
The services of mountaineering guides were originally sought after in Europe but now you’ll find them all over the world leading expeditions up mountains in Canada, the United States, New Zealand, and Peru. Of course, most alpine guiding still occurs in places such as France, Switerland and, of course, Italy, where this cabin can be found as well as one of the world’s most famous mountains: the Matterhorn. (Click here to see insane footage of a mountaineer summiting the Matterhorn.) If you’re interested in taking in some of the most incredible views in the world, be sure to hire a mountaineering guide and maybe even visit the cutest ski cabin on earth.
