The Cutest Ski Cabin in the World?

0
Would you ever stay in the cutest Ski Cabin in the world knowing that it’s also one of the highest? Recently we came across this miniature ski cabin on Tiny House Swoon and just had to share it. It was installed in 2012 at an altitude of 2,531 metres (8,303 feet) in the Julian Alps in Italy by Diemmelegno-Friulian company and despite being only 9 square metres in size (30 sq ft) it has nine beds in it. The cabin is intended to be a refuge for skiers, mountaineers and hikers and was built by 12 men in honour of their friend Luca Vuerich, one of the world’s foremost mountaineering guides.

Most of the structure was built with local spruce wood, which were sized on the valley floor and then transported by helicopter to the mountain top. It only took a few days to raise and now it is frequented by alpine aficionados from around Europe and around the world who come there to enjoy one of the most dramatic views on Earth.

The services of mountaineering guides were originally sought after in Europe but now you’ll find them all over the world leading expeditions up mountains in Canada, the United States, New Zealand, and Peru. Of course, most alpine guiding still occurs in places such as France, Switerland and, of course, Italy, where this cabin can be found as well as one of the world’s most famous mountains: the Matterhorn. (Click here to see insane footage of a mountaineer summiting the Matterhorn.) If you’re interested in taking in some of the most incredible views in the world, be sure to hire a mountaineering guide and maybe even visit the cutest ski cabin on earth.
