Since January 2014, GuideAdvisor’s Facebook page has seen a 595% increase in likes (and is now hovering around 9,000), while Twitter followers have increased 356% to 3,740. There have also been increases in our other channels such as G+ (92%) and Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube. Also, in that time the number of tour guides and adventure guides featured on the site has increased 91% to over 1,000 based in 41 countries around the world and the number of travellers who have joined the site has also increased by over 90%.
As well, it needs to be noted that in the past three months GuideAdvisor’s web page has improved its global ranking by a whopping 308,763 positions. This is related to the recent campaign and contest that was instigated to increase traveller traffic to the site.
Aside from the increases in traffic, GuideAdvisor has also made huge improvements on the web site, both for guides and travellers. Some of them include:
- A redesign of the navigation, home page, search tool, trip pages, guide profile pages and dashboard to make them all more responsive
- Creation of a Business Listing model, subscription pages and related functionality to display operator information
- Creation of a VIP program, VIP deals page and functionality to offer different discounts on both Business Listings and Commission Trips
- Per hour and per trip options were added to trip listings both on Commission and Business listings
The GuideAdvisor team will continue to improve the web site over the coming months as well increase our Social Media presence and drive more traffic to the guides listed on our site.
