Guide Bio

Hello, dear friends and welcome to Serbia and Balkans! Allow me to introduce myself at first. My name is Zlatan Ilic and I am one of the company founders. I have been working in tourism all my life, both in Serbia and abroad. This has not only allowed me to travel the world and marvel at its beauties, but also to understand how my own country, Serbia, perfectly fits into the “big puzzle” of the sights, sounds and experiences of the world, as well as what makes it unique and worthwhile to be discovered by foreign guests. This is what inspired me to become a licensed local guide in 2007 and start introducing my country to others.

I have organized and led sightseeing trips in Belgrade and Novi Sad, day trips out of these two cities, as well as longer itineraries throughout Serbia. My specialty is custom made multi-country tours, encompassing the whole Balkan area. I have led many individual travelers as well as small groups through Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania, and of course, my beloved Serbia. I have a very “hands on” style when it comes to creating, organizing and leading private tours throughout Serbia and the Balkans. I like to keep an eye out for that little something extra, that will make your trip a unique and unforgettable experience: a traditional meal in a typical Vojvodina “salas” restaurant, a home-stay with a hospitable family in Central Serbia, tasting “prsut” (prosciutto) ham in Montenegro, meeting a traditional craftsmen at his workshop in Bascarsija Quarter in Sarajevo, a horse show at the “Lipizza” farm in Slovenia, and much more. It would be my pleasure to show you all this during your visit to the Balkans – see you soon!

Our 5 day tour of Serbia was well planned by Zlatan Ilic. He is very knowledgeable, competent, considerate, and friendly. We would highly recommend Zlatan as a tour guide and would not hesitate booking another tour with him.

Kalina Tours

Hello dear friends, and welcome to Serbia and Balkans! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zlatan Ilic and I work as a private guide in Serbia for many years now. Actually, I have been working in tourism industry almost for all my life. I have been practicing guiding both abroad and in my motherland of Serbia. This practice gave me lots experience and allowed me to understand what the expectations of a tourist are, and what makes Serbia and Balkans so special and unique for all the newcomers. All these things have inspired me to become one of the professional private guide in Serbia and the Balkans. It is a pleasure for me to help tourists discover the beauty and charm of my beloved country. I am eager to share my experience and knowledge with all the people interested in culture and history of Serbia. It is worth noting that I offer a wide range of private tours. I organize various trips all around Serbia, but especially in Novi Sad and Belgrade. I can organize a tour for a big tourist group, but mostly I prefer to provide my service for smaller groups. In my opinion, private guiding gives you more opportunities to help tourists and travelers immerse into the the Serbian and Balkan culture. We can also visit some other ex-Yugoslavia and Balkan countries. You should note that besides my guiding service, I also provide transportation. It is very convenient because you won’t have to worry about how to get from one place to another; and more importantly, you’ll be able to save time for visiting more landmarks of beautiful Serbia. When I work with smaller groups, I have more opportunities to build trustful and closer relationships with my clients. I can take all their wishes and requests into consideration.
