Guide Bio

Its all about passion! I have an absolute passion for nature and the outdoors!

I have been guiding Since 2005 in the top private lodges in Africa and now have taken my love of nature to another level. I am the owner of Tim Brown Tours which has been running since February 2010. I believe that a guest should always leave wanting to return and have experienced the best that we can offer in every way. I believe in giving my clients a holistic experience ensuring that they leave having used all of there senses in there experience. An Experience is not only a visual or spiritual one but senses like Smell, Hearing and Touching the environment make all the difference in an average Safari Tour compared to an amazing one!

Tim Brown's Reviews

As seen on TripAdvisor: 5 of 5 starsReviewed 27 July 2014 Tim picked us up very very promptly from our Durban hotel & drove us out to our lodge base for our trip on the way taking in a wild cat refuge where you can enter the pens of the ones that cannot be rehabilitated back into the wild. This was great to see most particularly the close cheetah encounter. Next we went to the Hluhluwe reserve where Tim’s knowledge and enthusiasm came out. We saw over several drives where we encountered all the big 5 apart from the most elusive & rare leopard. Tim’s van was quite new, clean, comfortable and spacious and as there were just two of us and as the view from the back of the van was not so good we both squashed into the front seat where the windows were fully openable and were not tinted unlike the back. If it was a bigger group we would have had to take turns to be in the best view seat, so its worth paying extra to have a private tour. Tim, having clearly lots of experience spots most things way before us & immediately knew what they were – only once or twice something on our side we saw first! Tim has a fridge in the van for cold water as needed. On the third day we went to St Lucia to go on a boat trip where you can closely see many hippo’s and croc’s on the large lake. Afterwards Tim writes a great ‘blog’ for each of his tours with some great photos to complement our own. This is a very nice touch. Visited July 2014
