Guide Bio

I am a sightseeing guide and the president of the Thon Tha Responsible Tourism Cooperative. I was born in 1984 in Ha Giang and I am an ethnic Tay.

I had a tough childhood under poverty and war. I joined the Vietnamese Army and became a member of the Communist party. Overcoming many difficulties, I am one of the model leaders in the village. Now, I am an English local guide, one language that I never thought I could learn.

I am proud to be part of a foundation and social enterprise for community development. It has carried out tourism projects in remote areas in Northern Vietnam since 2014.

With my tours, I support other Tay ethnic people who are poor farmers, woodmen, fishermen and can not speak English. They have a strong desire to improve their life when many international tourists come to visit their beautiful village.

Youth Employment and Society Development

We are a travel expert in tailor-made holidays with the local flavor for helping communities and travellers be locally minded. We can customize many tours according to your preferred travel period, specific touring needs and budget. The mission of our social enterprise, YESD (Youth Employment and Society Development), is to increase employment for underprivileged youth in the tourism sector and promote "responsible tourism" by educating a new generation of tour guides and increasing the skills of indigenous people. By training them in many areas, from Vietnamese history to the fundamentals of responsible tourism, we teach them the steps needed to protect the environment and preserve indigenous cultures and traditions. We also instill in them a passion for passing along their knowledge and cultural sensitivities to international visitors, enriching their experience
