Guide Bio

I am Tarun Sharma, I have lived all my life in Delhi, India. Since I joined my father’s travel company Adventure Holiday Tours, I have loved my work of meeting people. I never wanted to sit in an office all the time so I planned to take people around which makes me feel nice and makes it all more interesting.

I love to show people real India, and my main aim is always to take people to local places which are very less touristic or non-touristic as that gives everyone a real view to the country.

My sister and I feel blessed and are still very thankful to have made a tour with Adventure Holiday Tours. Our wonderful trip started with perfect advices from Tarun and his father in their office regarding our wishes and the time we had left to discover for the first time part of India. Tarun himself drove and guided us. He is a very well informed and passionate guide who showed us India, its cultre, its people and beautiful sites in a real and original way. In every minute of our trip we felt comfortable and very heartfeltly treated, not only by Tarun but also by all his family. We really had one of this very special time of our life. It is incredible how deeply we could gain an insight in the short time we had and all without rushing from one site to the next or getting an overload of information.
When ever we go back again, we will go for sure with Tarun and Adventure Holiday Tours. There is no other way for us and hopefully it will be soon! ;-))

A trip to India in 2013 with an organized group made me want more. However, I realized that there was a lot more to India than the standard tourist trail and wanted something that was a bit different. I was very fortunate to find Tarun Sharma through glowing internet reviews and planned a return visit to India in 2014. My pre-trip communications with Tarun were prompt, helpful and friendly and we followed up with a couple of Skype sessions.

Tarun quickly understood what I was wanting…a glimpse of the ‘real India.’ He delivered on this and took me on a wonderful journey through Northern India and the Lower Himalayas. We travelled on many back-roads and even visited the village of his extended family where we stayed for a few days.

I initially had some reservations about spending so much time alone with one person, but it wasn’t an issue. Tarun was great company, respectful, responsible, flexible and very easy to get along with. His English is excellent and he is a sensible and competent driver. He is honest and open and was able to give me a good understanding of Indian life and culture.

I enjoyed my 6 weeks with him so much that I returned again in March 2015. This time, we went on a loosely planned trip down through Gujarat…well off the tourist trail. I loved not being totally organized and the ability to play things by ear. It seems that every trip to India has got better and there will still be more to come. I wouldn’t even consider using anyone else but Tarun. He gave me everything I wanted in a trip and more, He was always honest and willing to go the extra mile. I can 100% recommend him. I wrote a blog about my travels with him. http://www.travelsinindia2.blogspot.co.nz
