Guide at a Glance
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa
I am an adventure guide and owner of a successful surfing school. My passion is surfing and teaching people to surf. I started surfing at the age of 12 and soon after achieved exceptional results throughout my competitive surfing career. I am a proud Capetonian, having grown up in Kommetjie, Cape Town. I am a seven-time South African Surfing Champion, professional Surf Coach and business owner with a real zest for life and adventure!
My professional studies include an Honors Degree in Psychology and Communication through the University of South Africa based on my initial qualification in Sports Psychology. I am also a qualified Chef, having studied at the world renowned Silwood Kitchen. I had the best of both worlds in 2001 when I worked on a surf charter yacht in Indonesia as a Chef, which gave me an opportunity to surf for nine hours a day.
I have also worked in journalism contributing to the development of the woman’s surfing magazine, Salt Water Girl Surf. I became the Regional Editor for the magazine representing the region from Namibia to Jeffreys Bay.
I love the outdoors, particularly any water-based sport. I surf, swim, wakeboard, water-ski, SUP and longboard. I also enjoy going to the gym, running and cycling. One of my favorite things to do is walking on the beach with my husband, son and two dogs.
