Guide Bio

When I was young, I lived with my family in the countryside, with my dad being a farmer. In August, 1999, I decided to turn my dream of being a trekking guide in Nepal a reality. I love my job as a licensed trekking guide. I am currently and owner and operator of a trekking agency in Nepal. You can find me taking travelers on treks through the Himalayas and Kailash range. One of the best parts of being a guide is that it allows me to connect with a wide variety of people and cultures from all over the world. I love introducing travelers to the nature, culture and adventures of Nepal and Kailash, Tibet.

I can remember my first trek like it was yesterday. I was just a young man, tasked with carrying a basket full of food weighing 45 kg on a trek up Upper Mustang via Beni-Jomsom as a porter. After spending a few years working as a porter and Sherpa, I finally received the chance to become a guide.

The old saying, “Practice makes perfect,” is a motto I live by. I have trekked through essentially all areas of the Himalayas too many times to count. As of 2013 I have trekked the Kailash ranges 27 times, highlighted by my trek up Mount Kailash via Simikot.

I’m a friendly person who is flexible with regards to dealing with your needs as a client. I believe teamwork is the most important aspect of a company. As a tour operator, I stress teamwork. It not only empowers the people I work with, but creates trust, which is second to none in the trekking world.
