Guide Bio

We are a young local couple dedicated to promoting our lifestyle, culture and traditions. Lesly and I open our home to visitors to teach cooking classes of Burmese and Shan recipes. We love to share our family environment with people from all over the world. Everyone is welcome. This is not a professional, by-the-book class. We shop at the local market together and prepare and cook the meals together before we all sit down and enjoy the masterpiece dish! The experience is also about learning the origin of each of the ingredients and how, when combined, they make a magical creation!

I love my community and I try to help promote the area in many ways. We donate a percentage of our profits from the cooking class to support the education of local children. Many of the local children lack the tools needed to continue in their education. We purchase pencils, papers and other school supplies for the local orphanage and school.

Not only do we open our home for the cooking classes, but we also hold regular English lessons in our living room. We have a bookcase filled with books, so local families can learn to read and speak English.

Cooking is not just about the meal itself. It is also about the time spent with friends and family.

Bamboo Delight Cooking Class

My family holds regular Burmese and Shan cooking lessons in our home. A percentage of the proceeds are donated to educational supplies for local children.
