Guide Bio
I was born in Rome in the river Tiber Hospital in 1980 close to the spot where, according to the tradition, Romulus and Remus were found by the Shepherd Faustulus and fed by the She-Wolf, now the symbol of the city. I graduated in Modern Languages in 2006 at Rome Sapienza University and enjoyed studying Linguistics and Literature even though I spent hours reading about History and Arts. I have worked as a free lance Tour Guide since 2003 and led tours throughout Rome, Italy and Europe for different companies but I also travelled to Africa and USA for both tourism and work.
I extremely love to take private or group tours off the beaten track pathways, especially in my home town, the Eternal City but I also currently lead tours to the famous sites such as the Vatican and the Colosseum trying to give standard historical as well as backstage information. I love my guiding job because it gives me the possibility to make a profession out of my interests and to meet interesting people from all over the world. Some people think that guides know everything but the truth is that we never stop learning and this gives me just the right enthusiasm!
Currently I live in Ostia, 25 miles south-west of Rome, by the Tyrrenian Sea and the amazing archeological site of Ostia Antica, the ancient port of the city which, unlike the Roman Forum, gives the opportunity to visit a well preserved Roman city in a comfortable pacing. I am deeply interested in Archaelogy, History, Local Traditions and Food & Wine (how can I not, I am Italian..). Just like St Augustine said, I truly believe that the World is like a book and those who don’t travel only read one page of it..
