Tunnel and Dungeon Tour
I am a registered SA Tour Guide member and sightseeing guide. Being born and bred in Cape Town has given me an immense insight into the well known and the off the beaten track points of interest and treasures of the fairest Cape.
With extensive overseas travel to Europe the UK and USA and roots in Germany, I can share your interests and understand your needs. I can offer to guide tours of the picturesque coastlines of the Cape Peninsula, sample some of South Africa’s finest wines, learn about a new sport or explore some of the Cape Town’s historical and cultural sites.
I do tunnel exploration and it is a new urban activity below the city of Cape Town. I am intrigued that parts of the underground canals and rivers date back to 1652. They used to supply the passing ships with fresh water. Later, these rivers flowing through the city became pleasant walkways shaded by oaks with bridges going over them. As the years passed and the city expanded, it is interesting to note they were eventually covered up and forgotten. Cape Town was once known as the little Amsterdam in a foreign country.
