Massimo is the owner and master chef of Il Grottino di Zio Toto restaurant, located beside the beautiful medieval walls in Umbria, Italy. Born and raised in Monte Castello di Vibio, Massimo has a deep connection with the area.

Massimo started growing his passion and love for cooking from a young age and the cooking traditions, flavours, and customs passed down by his mother are reflected in his dishes. With his excellence and dedication, Massimo was delighted to be invited to participate in a national television program, Geo & Geo, in 2008 and 2009. He was also awarded the title of Best Cook in Umbria in recognition of customer satisfaction.

In 2005, with the support from his closest friends, Massimo opened Il Grottino di Zio Toto’s doors. In addition to the restaurant, Massimo also began offering several half-day cooking courses in a relaxing and intimate environment. The courses take place in a newly renovated facility where you will learn to make pasta, using fresh local ingredients. You will appreciate Massimo’s full attention to his traditional Umbrian dishes.
