Mary McNeill is the owner of Gourmania Food Tours Tasmania, which was established in 2011. Mary was a former pastry chef and sixth generation Hobartian. She has been a devoted food tourist! Finding that food tours are a fabulous way to engage with a city and its cuisine and culture and meet other like-minded travelers, Mary decided to bring her love of food and discovery home to Hobart. She’s a graduate of the French Culinary Institute’s Classic Pastry Arts course in New York City. She worked as a Pastry Chef in kitchens in the USA and Hobart, including Chris Jackman’s Choux Shop and most recently at one of Hobart’s best restaurants, Smolt. Mary is a member of Slow Food Hobart, currently serving on its’ committee.
