2 o'clock pre-booked Town Tour 1, covering all that Why's and Wherefores, about the Town, the Castle, the Duke and the architecture

Guide Bio

I Love My Home Town and there is nothing better than the thanks we receive for sharing that love. Arundel is a historic Castle Town dating back to pre 1066, with Cathedral, bi-denominational Church and many fine architecturally interesting buildings. That’s why I became a guide !
Led by Martin, a Postman who is lifelong Arundel. His tour includes pictures from the past and present, his narration includes tales of Romans, Saxons, Normans, Victoriana up to anecdotal stories of growing up there. His view of the town, through the eyes and passion of a local is humorous, entertaining and educational. Your questions will be answered, from Norfolk in Sussex, Cathedral and bi-denomination church, from bricked-up windows to fire marks.

Arundel Historic Tours and Talks

Every day in Arundel we have a 2o'clock tour, a 60-75 minute tour of this stunning ancient inland port town. We are not going to give talks that involve too many historic dates and detail, this can lead to an overload of details. We are going to give an introduction to all the history, geography and interesting parts of Arundel so often missed by day trippers. 60 minutes out of the day, we believe, will leave the rest of the day to enjoy what the town has to offer. The busy restaurants, Inns, antique shops and tea rooms. Also the castle with its own tour, the wildfowl and wetland centre, or to re-visit somewhere seen during the tour. Whatever you decide we hope that you'll leave Arundel with the knowledge you have really seen the town, learnt of its history, and enjoyed it's hospitality.
