Guide Bio

I grew up in the lakes and forests of Muskoka, Ontario. I have a diploma in Outdoor Adventure Business and am working towards my degree in Therapeutic Recreation. This will be my third summer with Takaya Tours and I love having the opportunity to share the beauty of Belcarra Park and the Indian Arm with visitors. I love to inspire others to appreciate and to learn about the natural environment and the creatures that live within. I enjoy answering questions about the ocean or forest life or guiding a self-discovery through the great reference books we have at the kayak shop. I invite you all to join us in an exploration either by land on one of our guided rainforest tours or by water on a kayak tour! Guiding adventure and learning.

Takaya Tours

Takaya Tours is a First Nation-owned eco-tourism venture based in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. It has been in operation since 1999 and at the core of its business are guided interpretive paddles in replica ocean-going canoes or sea kayaks. Guests paddle in the protected waters of the Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm while guides from the Coast Salish Nation sing songs, tell legends and point out ancient village sites. Tours have been specifically designed for people of all ages and fitness levels.
