Guide Bio
Kennedy moved from Seattle, Washington to Ollantaytambo in 2007 to pursue work as a volunteer after graduating from Georgetown University, where she studied Latin America and International Development. After volunteering for 2 years, Kennedy founded Awamaki, a non-profit organization that empowers rural Andean women and connects them to global markets, enabling them to transform their communities. Kennedy loves the pace and quality of life in Ollantaytambo and enjoys spending her time hiking, playing with the office dogs, and running into a dozen good friends every time she leaves the office or goes to the market. She currently lives near Seattle with her husband, but spends several months a year in Peru. Come experience this beautiful part of the world and learn about Kennedy’s cause during a weekend workshop.
