Guide Bio

I am an adventure guide and have been a mountain guide for over 35 years. I enjoy sharing my passion for fun and exciting tours with old and new clients, friends and family. Sometimes my partner Tom Raudaschl will assist me on classic adventures throughout the world.

With my guiding mountain adventures and many expeditions around the world I understand the true essence of a mountain experience. I can guarantee you will come home with a stronger connection to friends, family and a new understanding of yourself and the people and places we have been.

My passion for the mountains started at a young age when I was living in Aspen, Colorado. I have explored the Himalayas including four Everest expeditions, Gasherbrum II in the Karakorum to the first Nordic ski traverse of Denali Mount McKinley in Alaska, New Zealand Alps, North and South America, jungles of Borneo and the Great Barrier Reef.

I have a BA in Outdoor Education and an MHE in Health Education. I am an AMGA senior certified guide where I served on the board and helped develop their ski and accreditation programs. I have years of experience working in the avalanche arena including ski area based, remote fly in huts, cat skiing and highway avalanche operations observing the avalanche phenomenon and teaching avalanche courses to a variety of winter user groups.

I have contributed in adventure documentary cinematography with projects such as the CBS film Footprint on Everest and the documentary Everest at the Millennium.

I first came to Canada to follow my passion for climbing and returned to stay 30 years later to work, play and be inspired by relationships developed in these remote places.
