Giovanna Bossi Rosenfeld is a tour guide specializing in Jewish Florence walking tours. She is a historian of Florentine architecture and an officially licensed tour guide. Her interest in the Jewish people’s life in Florence at the time of Botticelli and Galileo led her to becoming a historian and a tour guide offering insight from a Jewish perspective. She got a degree in the History of Florentine Architecture at the University of Florence. In the past, she used to work as a freelance architect specializing in architecture restoration, and a researcher of Florence history.
Giovanna is passionate about history, and her impressive knowledge and experience will make Jewish history come alive. Giovanna is the author of the map and text of “Jewish Itinerary in Florence” for the local Jewish community and was also involved in both editions of “The Complete Italy Jewish Guide” by Meyer Piha. Additionally, she designed the map of “Jewish Sites and Utilities in Florence”.
Currently, Giovanna studies Hebrew and visits Israel frequently.
