Essence of Bhutan
Before I founded Gems Bhutan Travels, I was working for NGOs such as United Nations in New York, Save the Children in the US, and WWF, corporate sector and as a consultant. I was a guide for National Geographic Expeditions initially and later as their trip leader which I greatly enjoyed. While working as a guide for GeoEx in 1993, I met Thomas L. Brunner and Kathleen Ney Brunner from Massachusetts, a wonderful couple who sponsored me to go for a graduate study at Eastern College in Wayne, Pennsylvania where I graduated with an MBA in 1995. I can never thank enough the Brunners in a million years for their generosity, love, and affection. I came back to Bhutan in early 1996 and was leading trips for the GeoEx as and when I could.
Thus, having been a beneficiary of the tourism sector myself, I feel very passionate about helping people from other countries have the best trip of their life when they visit Bhutan. Our guiding principle is client’s service, safety, accountability, happiness and teamwork. We go the extra mile in meeting the needs of our guests and, above all, we are completely trustworthy.
