Guide Bio

Hello, I’m Francesca and I’m a qualified local guide of Florence since 2008. I’m proud of being Florentine and my mission is to transmit the love for my city to all my guests (I don’t really like the word ‘tourists’, I prefer much more ‘guests’ or even better ‘travellers’). I’m knowledgable, passionate, I enjoy my job every day more. Every tour is for me a new challenge: I love being the guide of visually impaired people, who are really special for me. I like showing to my guests the real spirit of Florence: discovering a place with a local makes the trip a memorable experience!

As seen on site : “Bringing History to Life”. My husband and I had a private tour of the magical city of Florence with Francesca. She brought the past to life if you will with her in depth knowledge of the history & arts of HER city which she is so proud of as she can be!! Our tour consisted of a walking morning tour of the city covering the highlights and some hidden gems as well. We ended the tour by going into the Academia to see the original David. If you are pressed for time as we were I strongly recommend having a private tour and to be guided through the streets…thank you Francesca. Anne Harroun USA

We met at 15:00 for a walking tour of 3 hours. The heat was almost unbearable and the places of interest overwhelming. Under such circumstances, there is only one way to go: book a tour by locals. Time flew, Florence revealed most of its secrets, we had lunch and most important of all she took us to buy the best ice cream. Francesca is amongst the best, because she marries a most pleasant personality with in-depth and accurate knowledge. I cannot think of better value for money. — Krgds Marc Salzer, Athens

Francesca is an outstanding guide and we would highly recommend her! She is informative, articulate and knows the history of Europe, Italy and particularly Florence really well… She responded easily to our request to go into, not just see, the Duomo and St. Croce churches. She also answered all questions clearly and concisely. The tour of the city was complete, well organized and covered all we hoped to see. She met us at our hotel and provided a very though visit in Florence. Don’t miss this guide! Beth Doney

Francesca is astounding as a guide. She knows the ancient as well as contemporary Florence inside out and is able to explain the details at whatever level you wish. She also is a font of enjoyment as a person! I guarantee your trip to Florence will be better if Francesca is your guide! Charles Cole New York

“Excellent guide for tours of Florence” We had such a great tour with Francesca the first time that we toured with her in March 2014, that we decided to take another one with her. This tour, called Medici Grand Tour, is not just about this famous Florentine family; it is a tour of Florence itself, because one cannot separate the history of Florence from the Medici. Francesca is like a walking encyclopedia, not just describing the pictures, frescos, statues, and artifacts, but also explaining the history and significance of each in a way that paints a glorious canvass. We got more from this one tour than if we had taken a large group tour every day for a week. I rate this tour six stars out of five. James Cone Sequim, Washington
