As seen on Zerve: I participated in this food tour with my 15 year old daughter and BOTH of us thoroughly enjoyed it! Had we not taken the tour, our day in Catalina would have been somewhat boring – walking from store to store. The food and drink in each establishment bypassed our expectations. Not only was everything delicious, but tables and chairs were waiting for us everywhere! Our guide’s (Erin) knowledge of Catalina was impressive and we learned quite a bit. It didn’t hurt that the weather was gorgeous and the walk was not strenuous at all. We recommend this tour 100%!!! Visited April 2013.

As seen on Zerve: This is a good tour for learning about Avalon and the island. The food portions are good. Have a very light breakfast prior. The guide was a local who grew up on the island and had a lot if good information about the town. Although the tour is recommended for teens and above, our 7 year old enjoyed it just as much as we did. Visited April 2013.

As seen on Zerve: This tour was very good. We got a lot of information about Avalon and ate at some wonderful places. The tour guide was so pleasant and informative. I have back problems, and was able to do this tour without any problem, as there are many places to sit along the way. I would highly recommend it. Visited April 2013.

As seen on Zerve: This tour was great. We’ve never been on a food tour before, but we definitely consider ourselves “foodies” and this did not disappoint. We really enjoyed every food stop along way, and the history was interesting, but not so much that it got overwhelming. This is worth going on if you love food. Visited April 2013.

As seen on Zerve: Our guide grew up on Catalina so she knew the history of the island first hand. She shared many interesting stories about the city and some of the families who live there. Its a great way to spend half a day seeing the island with a native and sampling the local flavor. Visited June 2013.

As seen on Zerve: My mum and I had a really fun time and genuinely enjoyed the experience. We’ve been coming to Catalina for years (almost 40 for mum and over 20 for me) and this afforded us the opportunity to try some things we never had before, as well as learn more about the island’s history. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes history, food or fun! Visited June 2013.

As seen on Zerve: This is a group activity, small or large! We got oodles of tastes. New places to try – and a mini-tour of Catalina Island history. Our host also gave us suggestions on what to do with the rest of our day, which we did and had more fun! Kudos to the Chef (group) who started this. Visited July 2013.

As seen on Zerve; I was excited about this tour because all of the restaurants sounded great and by the end I wasn’t disappointed for the most part. The first place, Steve’s Steakhouse, was the best from the plate of three different things to try to the pink lemonade to drink. The second place, Mr. Ning’s Chinese Garden, was also delicious and is something that I’ve never tried before and is a new favorite of mine. The only downfall about this place was that they did not provide anything to drink. The third place, Catalina Coffee & Cookie Co., was not my favorite only because I was not fond of the iced tea, but the chocolate was really good. I would have preferred a smoothie or something, but that’s just my personal preference. The fourth place, Catalina Pizza Kitchen, was just ok for me. The pizza was good and the chicken was also good, but the salad was too spicy for my taste. The root beer was the best part along with seeing the bowling alley which is different than what is normally seen. Also, tokens are provided to play an arcade game, but there were people playing on the game when I went so my group wasn’t able to play. The fifth place, Avalon Seafood, was pretty good. I’m not a big fan of fish, but surprisingly the fish was really good. The last place, C.C. Gallagher’s was something different. I didn’t care too much for the ginger beer (unlike my brother who finished off the extra from both bottles) but the ice cream was amazing. By the end of the tour I was beyond full. Through out the tour when walking from place to place, the group stops and certain points along the way to learn some history about the island. The island has some pretty interesting history. I’m glad I was able to do this tour and I would do it again just to get some more of that food. Visited July 2013.

As seen on Zerve: Your get all of the history, facts and information about Avalon that you’d get in a museum or on a tour bus, but you get the fun of tasting delicious local food. The walking tour is very interactive and you get a wonderful feel for the quaint island town. Our guide was super nice and very informative. After sampling 6 different restaurants during our tour, we had a tough time decdidng which one we would return to for dinner, as all 6 options were worthy. I would highly recommend this tour. It is a lot of fun. Visited July 2013.

I learned so many things about the island and when i return i will definitely take the tour again when i bring my family and relatives. The food was excellent. I would also suggest that when they ask for food allergies that you state whether you drink alcoholic beverages. Visited November 2013.

As seen on Zerve: Delightful afternoon spent walking around downtown Avalon and sampling some of the specialties of the local restaurants. We returned to Steve’s for dinner the next day due to the sampling of tomato curry bisque, a menu item I probably would not have ordered, but loved after the tasting. When friends from the Mainland come to visit, we plan to have them join us on another Taste of Avalon tour. Visited February 2014.
