Guide Bio

I am a retreat host and certified yoga instructor. I opened my yoga retreat center in 1997 after buying my grandfather’s historic home. I wanted to continue the legacy of healing and hospitality that began with a young Theodore Roosevelt and my great grandfather, nature guide William Sewall. I offer personalized retreats near lakes and Baxter State Park.

I was a competitive runner in high school and college. I found yoga very helpful after two major accidents over the years where I needed to regain my strength. I had started yoga in college but didn’t become dedicated to the activity until I returned to the United States after working and studying in Europe.

I have taught at Golden Bridge Yoga, Kundalini Yoga East, Pure Yoga, HB Acting School, Nu-Age Spa, Pura Vida in Costa Rica and Spannocchia in Italy. I also have conducted classes in Sweden, Canada and in California in the United States. My workshops have been held in various studios in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. I have taught a popular Chakra series at the Open Center in New York City. In fact, my Chakra booklet can be downloaded from the classes’ page and my DVDs can be purchased at Sewall House Shop page and elsewhere.

My retreat center has been chosen as the top 10 centers worldwide two years in a row by Gayot online and has been featured in various publications including Yoga Journal, Travel & Leisure and InStyle.

Sewall House Yoga Retreat

The Sewall House remains in the family and to this day continues the hospitality begun by Levi Sewall who settled Island Falls. Donna Davidge, the fifth generation in the house, runs the lovely old place as a yoga retreat.
