Amish Lamichhane is the founder of Nepali tourism industry. He was born in the Gorkha district, a historical place located in the Midwestern part of Nepal, famous for the Mt. Manaslu treks. Amish began his career in the Nepalese Tourism industry as a porter for three years when he was 17 years old. He enrolled with the tourism industry of Nepal in 2008 and subsequently received tour guide training from the Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hotel Management (NATHAM) in Kathmandu. Amish has a decade long experience in Nepal’s tourism industry, working in various trekking and travel agencies/companies as a trekking porter, guide, leader as well as Manager.
Amish and his colleague, Mahesh, established Gorkha Adventure Pvt. Ltd. and Amish is currently working as the Executive Director where he manages the operations department. He strives to provide adventure courses for travelers in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and India and wishes to promote sustainable eco-mountain tourism by respecting its unique cultural diversity and ecological environment.
