It’s not hard to understand why Tanzania is one of Africa’s most visited countries. Not only does it have big culture and friendly locals, it’s also one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Epic wildlife viewing opportunities are paired with sandy white beaches stretching into the Indian Ocean, Mount Kilimanjaro, and ancient baobab trees. Tanzania nature is a big deal.
It’d be a crime to come all the way to Tanzania and not hop on a safari tour to see the Big Five. Some of the best game viewing is found in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. Tarangire is Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary, and is home to a large elephant population. Situated on the Tarangire River, this park also has stunning baobab trees. You can opt for a bush walk, as well as visiting a native tribe. Lake Manyara National Park is another option, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. It’s considered one of the most beautiful places in Africa, and is covered in lush green vegetation. In addition to the Big Five, baboons and blue monkeys call this park home.
The Ngorongoro Crater is filled with watering holes and provides shelter for almost 30,000 animals within the slopes of the volcano. But the granddaddy of all national parks is the Serengeti, spanning over 14,000 square kilometers and home to the biggest concentration of big cats in the world. Here you’ll see savannah landscapes, mountains, dense forest, and more. You’ll have a great opportunity to see the Big Five here as well as many other animal species.Read More ...
