Italy Adventure
You might not know this, but Italy is rife with adventure. It’s not all pizza and pasta and gorgeous cobblestoned streets – oh no. Those things are all very good reasons to love Italy, but if you’re the kind of person who needs a bit of excitement and outdoorsy fun, an Italy adventure awaits.
For some spectacular alpine scenery, head to the Dolomite mountains. Here there are plenty of walking trails for people with all levels of physical ability, and you’ll be swept up in the beautiful landscape (the Italian cuisine and fantastic wines doesn’t hurt either). And who could pass up the opportunity to see Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe? The wild, lunar setting here is sure to impress. Climb to the crater Silvestri, at a height of 2000 metres. Learn about volcano cones and lava flows, as well as volcanic caves. You’ll see lava deserts and majestic woods, and you’ll definitely have newfound respect for this fiery giant.
If you’re the kind of person who likes to combine hard work with luxury, try a cycling tour through Tuscany. As you hit the road you’ll learn about history, art, culture, and wine. You’ll visit vineyards while taking in the gorgeous countryside. Also consider cycling the Amalfi Coast. The slopes are challenging, but the rewards are worth it! Positano especially makes for a lovely stop.
Would you rather see Italy from the sky? Ride the cable car to the top of Monte Baldo for some amazing views of Lake Garda at 2300 metres high. Then get strapped in for a paragliding experience over the lake, which is sure to be one of the most memorable experiences of your Italy trip.
