China Private Tour

China is one of those places that feels new every time you visit. It’s massive, it’s diverse, and it’s quick to change. China is the world’s oldest continuous civilization, and there’s a feeling of antiquity no matter where you go. Whether you’re visiting the Great Wall or the mountains, or some quaint villages in between, China will leave you speechless. For many people, super cities like Beijing can feel intimidating and confusing, and culture shock is often a given. If you’d like to get acquainted with the country on an intimate level, all while experiencing famous Chinese hospitality, hiring a local guide to take you sightseeing on a China private tour is a great idea.

Navigating Beijing on your own may be tricky, but with a guide you’ll find it easy. Explore the Forbidden City – the royal palace built 600 years ago for the emperor in the Ming and Qing dynasties. You can visit the Summer Palace, which served as a resort for the royal family, built over 1000 years ago. There’s also the Temple of Heaven, the largest group of temple buildings and the largest heaven worshipping architecture in the world. Naturally, no visit to China is complete without seeing the Great Wall. It was used as a military defensive project to keep out invading troops from the north. It’s more than 5000 kilometres long, and is an absolutely stunning piece of work.  Also of interest are the Ming tombs. There are 13 Ming emperors buried in the northwest part of Beijing, and people can go underground to see one of the emperor’s tombs.

China Private Tour Continued...

Be sure to check out Xian, the capital of Shaanxi province, on your China private tour as well. The art district is a great launching point for explorations, and your guide can take you up to the Plateau to drive through the old villages there. You’ll see the China countryside, have a cup of tea with cave dwellers in their home, and even visit a traditional blacksmith. Many people come to this area to see the famous Terracotta Warriors: 8000 soldiers, 130 chariots, and 520 horses were for burial with Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. The amount of work that must have gone into such a creation is staggering! Visiting the Warriors is easily one of the most unique things to do in China.

For something different, you can learn about both Taoism and Buddhism in hidden temples around the countryside. Your guide can also take you on a drive through the gorgeous Qinling Mountains. You can even enjoy a rural lunch at a local farm set on some beautiful scenery. It’s hard to believe that such a unique natural landscape exists in overpopulated, busy China…but it does!
