Brazil Jungle Tour

Brazil makes an excellent destination for those who want an action-packed trip with all the dressings: beach time, jungle time, city life, and more. Whether you’re hanging out with the locals in Rio’s Copacabana or taking in some serious ocean time on the northeastern shores, Brazil is sure to be the kind of place you won’t soon forget. And then of course there’s the deep interior of the Amazon rain forest, where you’ll be plunged into an exotic blend of culture, wildlife, and big nature. It’s pretty much impossible to do this kind of trip on your own. To see the jungle safely, we highly recommend a guided Brazil jungle tour.

The Amazon rainforest covers 2.1 million square miles of land, most of which you’ll find in Brazil (nine other nations also share the land, including Peru and Colombia). The rainforest has been around for 55 million years, and is home to about 10 million species of plants, insects, and animals, many of which are not found anywhere else in the world. Many of the plant life also have medicinal qualities, and 70% of anti-cancer flora is found here.

In other words: the Amazon is incredible.

If you’re looking to truly immerse yourself in the jungle world, opt for an Amazon safari that’ll take you camping for a few days. You’ll travel by boat, car, and foot to various Amazon lodges or locations, and you’ll be prepped with some handy and basic jungle survival skills. At night, do some alligator spotting before settling into your hammock at a river hut. You’ll get treated to some local camping cookery, and even a fun cocktail or two to top off the night.

Brazil Jungle Tour Continued...

You can also start your journey at the Meeting of the Waters, where you observe the Rio Negro and Solimoes joining together to form the Amazon River. Cruise down the river, visiting the January Lake with its floating houses, and spend some time with the locals there. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to buy local crafts. When it comes to wildlife, lake Igapos has it all! Monkeys, sloths, anaconda, birds, and more. You can even fish for piranhas here.

But even if you’re not able to visit the Amazon, Brazil is still flush with other jungle life, like Tijuca National Park, where you can observe big nature. You can hop on a quick Brazil jungle tour from Rio, and have a small taste of what the jungle life is all about. Follow the trail of waterfalls for a swim in a small lake, climb rocks, and try your hand at bird watching. You’ll have unique views of Rio, and you can take a 35-minute trek to Bonita Rock at 1200 meters high. You might even meet a friendly monkey or two along the way!
